I can’t get the cap off my essential oil – it’s stuck!

I can’t get the cap off my essential oil – it’s stuck!

If you’ve previously purchased Oshadhi oils, you’re likely familiar with the safety caps accompanying our essential oils. On rare occasions, you may encounter difficulty in opening these caps.

This can occur with oils that you have been using for some time, if cap becomes clogged with oil. It’s more likely with thick or sticky oils. It can also happen very occasionally with oils that you have just received. Myrrh is a particular culprit due to its resinous nature.

If the cap is making a clicking sound rather than engaging the mechanism and turning, avoid forcing it to click repeatedly, as this could potentially damage the mechanism and exacerbate the issue.

Typically, you can open the bottle by following these uncomplicated steps. Gather some rubber gloves, a tea towel or cloth, a mug or cup, and a kettle.

  1. Invert your essential oil bottle in the cup.
  2. Pour boiling water from the kettle, covering the cap.
  3. Allow the bottle to sit for a few minutes to ensure thorough warming.
  4. Wearing rubber gloves (or using the towel or cloth), firmly hold the bottle, grip the cap, press down, and turn the bottle.

If you’ve attempted these steps without success, please return the bottle to us. We’ll handle the opening for you and reimburse the postage cost. Contact us to arrange your return.
